It’s been a bit more than a month and a half on this new path in my life—no job. My official last day at work was June 5th, 2026.
How is life so far?
From the outside, things are going kind of as expected. I knew the shift from where I was to this new path would be slow… especially in this emerging AI era, where finding a new job was always going to be challenging. My applications haven’t been very successful. No company has contacted me back to move to the next step. On the social media side, Trailnado is slowly growing.
And as expected, after only a month and a half, the anxiety and fear start to float around more… the urge to push harder, to crank out more clips and videos for the numbers instead of from real creativity and joy, more stress… and then it starts to eat at my peace and creativity. Again… as expected.
Deep down, I knew those feelings don’t really serve much purpose. If the goal that pushed me into this decision is peace, then I need to learn how to manage them. Maybe that’s the real lesson here—learning to handle those feelings rather than chasing a full-time job or trying to make Trailnado successful quickly. This is the time to learn it through real experience instead of, once again, pushing the lesson away and chasing the same faulty “goals” I’ve been chasing my whole life. In the end, what are those “goals” even good for? Will I learn anything new by doing the same things over and over? The answer is no.
So… if what I’m going after, and the learning that comes with it, keeps being difficult—not what my mind expected—am I okay with that? Am I still committed to learning this lesson and seeing where it takes me? If the answer is still yes, then the fear and anxiety start to mean a lot less.
