DIY Replacing cabin and engine air filters

This was the first time for me to do this maintenance by myself.

What you need to replace cabin air filter:

  1. New cabin air filter ~ $20
  2. Short Phillips screw driver
It is better to use short Phillips screw driver here since you don’t have much room above.

What you need to replace engine air filter:

  1. New engine air filter: ~ $23
  2. Both long and short flat head screw drivers
Loosen the first opening side of the air flow tube
Loosen the second opening side of the tube. This spot is harder to move around… I had to use both long and short flat head screw driver to make it work.
The big tube is out… make sure to notice the configuration of the placement before taking it out… so you can put it back on the same spot/config.
Now, use the same screw driver (flat head) to open the top of the air filter cover. You have to loosen all the screw around the cover… but leave the screw attached on the cover when you are taking it out.
Loosening another screw around the cover
The cover is out. Also make sure to notice the configuration or the placement of the cover before taking it out. So you can put it back the same way.
Pull out the old filter
Put in the new one
